Housewarming Shower for Jon Avila: Our friend Jon Avila is graduating from Exodus House and moving into his own apartment soon.  Jon lives in the EH apartment sponsored by Wesley, so we are hosting a housewarming shower for him on Sunday, January 27^th during our community lunch. The shower will be in the sitting area on the north side of the Fellowship Hall. Suggested items include:

Gift card to Walmart, kitchen and bathroom trash cans, trash bags for kitchen, knives and kitchen utensils (not silverware), Swiffer wet for kitchen & bathroom floors, broom/dustpan, all cleaning supplies, plunger, toilet bowl brush, shower curtain, towels, lamp/s for bedroom, bakeware/corning ware for oven & microwave, kitchen towels, pot holders, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, kleenex, and lastly, things like spices, condiments, etc. that we all have in the kitchen.

MLK Choir Festival at Wesley Church: 
Mark your calendars for Sunday, February 3 at 3:00 PM as we host the Third Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. choir festival honoring the message, work, and legacy of Dr. King.  Last year’s event was phenomenal musical event!   Choirs participating this year are:

Central Presbyterian Church
Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church
Quyale United Methodist Church
Wesley United Methodist Church

During the concert, a special offering will be collected for music education at the David R. Lopez Community School at Edgemere Elementary.

Whiz Kids Tutors Needed! There are children waiting for a tutor at our partner school, Edgemere Elementary.  Can you help?  Mondays during the school year from roughly 2-5:30 PM.  Contact Shirley Rolston at jsrolston@cox.net for more information.

Community Breakfast:  Our next Guy Ramsey, Breakfast on Us will be Saturday January 26th from 9 to 11 AM.  Come have breakfast with our neighbors!

Montessori Preschool:  Our Wesley Montessori Preschool, led by professors from Oklahoma City University has a few openings for the Spring session.  Ages 2 ½ – 5 Wednesdays, 9 AM – 2:30 PM, $65/month, scholarships available.  Contact Kathy Carey at kcjcjpj@aol.com or stop by on Wednesday!
