In Worship: Advent continues and so does our Worship series entitled, “Sacred: Finding the Holy in the Everyday.” The word “sacred” points to something dedicated as “holy” and “set apart.” Far too often, the sacred becomes obscured by the secular. This year, we invite you to a spiritual journey of seeing all things pregnant with the possibility of the holy. This week: “Sacred Knowing”.
SUNDAY December 22nd Volunteers
OFFERING COUNTERS: Lisa Haddon and Jim Rice
GREETERS: Ken McPherson and Martha Butler

Toilet Paper Drive for Skyline Food Pantry Clients! Toilet paper is certainly a needed item but is sometimes hard to buy when families and individuals live on a limited income. So, throughout December, we will be collecting toilet paper for our neighbors who shop the Skyline Food Pantry. Please leave your donation in the Sanctuary.
Toothpick Sunday Lunch: On December 22nd, bring your favorite food that is served on a toothpick (think appetizer) or other Christmas finger food to share!
Also, there will be NO Sunday lunch on December 29th. We’ll begin 2020 together with our all church potluck on January 5th!
Last Minute Gifts! Our friends from Red River Roasters will be offering coffee and gift baskets for sale on Sunday, December 22nd. Wesley UMC purchases coffee from Red River Roasters in support of Redemption Church and Criminal Justice and Mercy Ministries.
The purpose of Red River Roasters is to empower those released from prison with gainful employment. Red River Roasters is made up of people whose lives have been touched by incarceration in some way. Many of us have been incarcerated and know the stigma a felony conviction carries when applying for jobs. People released from prison face many challenges, including supporting their children and family along with repayment of an overwhelming number of court mandated fines and fees. Finding a good paying job can be the difference between success and failure for life on the outside.
There are many people who have been to prison that desire positive and permanent change in their lives! Please support Red River Roasters and help make this change possible.

Sunday Lunch Info From Jean Hendrickson: As this year’s coordinator for the Sunday Community Lunches, I want to express my deep gratitude for each of you. Our lunches have continued the opportunities we have to be in community with one another, and many beautiful friendships and relationships have blossomed during our time together. Thank you for your faithfulness as this year closes.
Right on its heels, the new year comes, and with it, the need for Community Lunch Sponsors, especially for January.
