Wesley is a lighthouse congregation

disaffiliation is not the end of this story.

We are a UMC for okc and for the future. a spiritual safe haven where all people are growing into mature christ followers that do good, do no harm, and stay in love with god – the three general rules of our united methodist life together.

Sunday School and age-level ministries

You, your spouse, and your children/grandchildren will have a place to learn and grow with others in a high-quality and engaging UMC Sunday school program. You will find Sunday activities, mid-week programming, and spring/summer/fall activities that will feel familiar to you as a United Methodist.

Spiritual guidance and comfort

Our pastors are here to walk through the spiritual, religious, emotional, and mental challenges that come with disaffiliation, and a group of Wesley members who also come from disaffiliated churches is ready to welcome and support you.

welcoming atmosphere and mission

At Wesley, the sign out front says “Inclusive and Evangelical,” and that is what we are. We hold to the best of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world, and being a church that Jesus Christ has opened to all people.

BETTER TOGETHER WITH HOMEGROUPS

Groups of 6-10 meet for one hour, once per week to share Christ, build community, and grow in faith. A way to meet new siblings in Christ, or stay in community with friends who also lost their UMC.

CHOIR, HANBELLS, AND PRAISE BAND

Did you sing in your choir? Ring bells? Play praise music? Was music a big part of your church experience? We would love to help you find your song again, for those who sing pray twice.

ENGAGING AND MEANINGFUL WORSHIP

Hear from one of the best preaching teams in the conference in a service with high quality and high participation that will strengthen your faith and prepare you for your week.

 MAKE AN ACTUAL DIFFERENCE

Wesley Church is known in OKC for its tremendous outreach and mission life. We are helping ex-offenders, those with addictions, people without homes, refugees, and others find help and hope.

About Us

Wesley Church OKC is a United Methodist Church at the intersection of the Asian District, Uptown OKC, and Oklahoma City University. We have a rich and powerful 114-year history of sharing the love of Christ and helping change lives in Oklahoma City and beyond.

Our worship experience is where “tradition meets today,” and it incorporates elements of worship that are traditional and modern. Our Spiritual Voices praise team leads us in praise songs you might sing in the car on your way to work, and our Tellers organ is one of the finest in the state and leads us in Charles Wesley’s greatest hymns.

There are opportunities on Sunday and throughout the week for every age, and there are ways for you to become involved in Wesley at whatever rate is comfortable for you and your family.

Some of our new friends who come from disaffiliated churches have chosen not to move their membership but are actively involved, while others have made the decision to transfer their membership and commit their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness to Jesus through Wesley. We are a “zero pressure” Lighthouse Congregation: we will not try to pester you! However, if and when your heart and spirit are ready, you’ll be uniting with one of the most mission-driven and diverse inclusive and evangelical UMCs in Oklahoma.

Our Sunday morning gathering includes traditional families, singles, babies and young children, folks who are more conservative and others who are more progressive, international friends, OCU staff and students, and friends from our 12-Step groups which are some of the largest and most successful in Oklahoma City.

Pastors and others who lost their church are ready to talk.
