Learning about Butterfly Lifecycles

We have had a wonderful treat at the Montessori the last few weeks.

Two Montessori children observing a butterfly habitat in their classroom, learning about the lifecycle of butterflies.

Two children eagerly observe a butterfly habitat in their Montessori classroom, exploring the lifecycle of butterflies.

Wesley church member Suzanne Parker gifted us with passion vines from her garden with tiny butterfly eggs.

The children have watched the egg through the lifecycle and are currently eagerly awaiting the butterflies to emerge from their chrysalis. This has provided several exciting lessons and works for the children. They have had the ability to observe and notice the changes. The children have also learned about the lifecycle. We have taken lots of pictures from this experience and the children love to tell the story of the life cycle of the butterfly as well.

Learning sure is fun! The blessings of a beautiful church community who is committed to the children is even sweeter. Thank you Suzanne for sharing your gifts with us.
