ADOPT- A-WINDOW! The windows in our education wing have faithfully provide light and protection for many, many individuals and groups since they were installed in 1953.  However, they have seen better days with rust, rot, and age taking their toll.  For several months, the Wesley Board of Trustees has worked diligently to arrange for replacement windows.  And, we are excited to share that the installation of the new windows will begin next week!!! We hope that you will be part of this exciting project by ADOPTING A WINDOW!   Suggested contributions are:

$500 complete window
$250 half a window

Donations of any amount are welcome!  Please make your donation to Wesley UMC with “Adopt a Window” in the memo.

Wesley on the Move June 16th – June 23rd

Sunday June 16th, 2019

1st Sunday After Pentecost

Wesley On the Move! June 16 – June 23

This Sunday: It’s the 1st Sunday after Pentecost, called “Ordinary Time” in our Christian Calendar. The Christian year includes two central cycles focused on major events in the life of Christ: the Christmas cycle (Advent-Christmas-Epiphany) and Easter cycle (Lent-Easter-Pentecost). Ordinary Time follows each cycle.

The word “ordinary” here does not mean “routine” or “not special.” Instead, it refers to the “ordinal numbers” (first, second, third, etc.) used to name and count the Sundays (such as the Third Sunday after Epiphany) the Season after Pentecost begins the day after Pentecost and continues to Advent. The purpose of this season is to support living out the gifts and callings discerned during the Easter Season and commissioned on the Day of Pentecost.  This Sunday, we’ll look at the importance of intergenerational mentoring in our sermon: “Just Aim the Light.”

Also, we will take up a special offering on Sunday, June 16th that will donated to the UMC RioTexas Conference Immigration Response fund.
